Workshop “The Ongoing Revolution in Foreign, Security and Defense Policy Analysis”

Школа політичної аналітики НаУКМА у співпраці з Асоціацією студентів-політологів НаУКМА запрошує усіх на воркшоп "The Ongoing Revolution in Foreign, Security and Defense Policy Analysis", який відбудеться 5 листопада (понеділок) о 15:00 в ауд.

Stephan De Spiegeleire

Stephan has worked as a defense and security policy analyst at the RAND Corporation for nearly 10 years, interrupted by 3-year stints at SWP (Germany) and the WEU’s Institute for Security Studies (France). Since 2004 he works in research institutes in the Netherlands (Principal Scientist at HCSS and Senior Advisor Defense and Security at TNO). He also teaches at Webster University   and at military academies across the world; and is non-resident Fellow at the Center for Non-Proliferation Studies at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and the Center for International Strategy, Technology, and Policy of The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech.

From a start as a Soviet specialist, Stephan has branched out into a number of different directions – all related to strategic orientation and navigation in international relations (writ large).  Stephan’s main research area is international defense and security planning, with a special focus on security foresight, risk assessment, (comprehensive) capabilities-based planning, strategic balance of investment, performance management, human-centred defense design. He still maintains an active research portfolio on post-Soviet issues, especially on Russia and Ukraine.
