Academic dialogue between Ukraine and Mexico

Academic dialogue between Ukraine and Mexico

On April 8, the Networking Bridges: Ukraine and Mexico event brought together representatives of academic and research communities from both countries to exchange perspectives and explore opportunities for cooperation.

During the discussion, Mexican experts José Joel Peña Llanes and Aribel Contreras shared insights into Mexico’s foreign policy priorities and the country’s position regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine. The conversation also addressed international law, human rights, regional cooperation, and the broader implications of global solidarity with Ukraine.

We were also honored to welcome Lesya Miliutenko, Third Secretary for Humanitarian Cooperation at the Embassy of Ukraine in Mexico, who delivered opening remarks and highlighted the importance of strengthening humanitarian and academic connections between the two countries.

The event was moderated by Maksym Yakovlyev, Head of the Kyiv-Mohyla International Relations Department and Director of the School for Policy Analysis NaUKMA.

Ukrainian participants presented their universities and initiatives. These exchanges opened new possibilities for institutional cooperation and future joint initiatives with Mexican partners.

Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation and contributed to strengthening academic ties between Ukraine and Mexico.
