Within the REUNIR project, the School for Policy Analysis at NaUKMA authored to a policy brief based on field research in the Eastern Neighbourhood and the Western Balkans. Drawing on expert interviews and focus groups across EU candidate countries, the study highlights that Europe’s security depends on country-specific approaches and a deep understanding of local contexts — not one-size-fits-all solutions.

The recommendations call for a reset of EU enlargement and neighbourhood policy, treating it as a core instrument of European security.
