“The University as a Geopolitical Actor: Francophone Africa Between Knowledge Dependence and Regional Ambitions” — Internship Report by Florian Rayssac

Florian Rayssac, a Master’s student from a university in France, approached us with a request to undertake an internship at the School for Policy Analysis NaUKMA. We gladly agreed, and he spent three months engaged in research work under the supervision of Maksym Yakovlyev, Director of SfPA NaUKMA.

His research was dedicated to analysing think tanks affiliated with universities in francophone African countries and the influence of their postcolonial past on this environment. Florian focused on how former metropoles continue to affect the development of these countries even today.
