The Center for National Security Studies was established as a structural department at the National University of \u201cKyiv-Mohyla Academy\u201d. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

2001 <\/div>\r\n\n\n\n

At the initiative of the Kyiv-Mohyla Department of Political Science and thanks to the efforts of Olexiy Haran and Rostyslav Pavlenko, the Center launched a project called the School for Policy Analysis.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

2001-2005<\/div>\r\n\n\n\n

The Center for National Security Studies is completely reformatted into the School for Policy Analysis. In 2005 the core team members of the School for Policy Analysis joined as employees the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine and the National Institute for Strategic Studies. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\r\n
2008<\/div>\r\n\n\n\n

The School for Policy Analysis recruits new students, postgraduates, and graduates of the Kyiv-Mohyla Department of Political Science. The SfPA creates a web portal ua-energy.org, dedicated to Ukrainian energy issues. Subsequently, a separate independent project, DiXi Group, was created and became a leading Ukrainian think tank in the field of energy. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

2010-2014<\/div>\r\n\n\n\n

With the support of the National Endowment for Democracy, SfPA focuses its analytical work on the constitutional reform design and the development of mechanisms for public engagement. The project \u201cCoalition Presidentialism\u201d was implemented with the University of Oxford.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

2014+<\/div>\r\n\n\n\n

The School for Policy Analysis focuses its attention on the urgent problems that have arisen in connection with the annexation of Crimea, Russia’s military aggression in Eastern Ukraine, and the information war.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\r\n
2018 <\/div>\r\n\n\n\n

The first mini-grant for institutional development from the International Renaissance Foundation. The beginning of long-term institutional support. The School for Policy Analysis and Yevhen Bystrytskyi begin cooperation within the \u201cElectoral Council UA\u201d initiative. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

2019<\/div>\r\n\n\n\n

The first field research of the \u201crevived\u201d School for Policy Analysis in Donetsk and Luhansk regions dedicated to youth activism. With the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, the SfPA developed a course \u201cCulture and Politics: Multifaceted (Inter)Relationships\u201d. Another project within the \u201cElectoral Council UA\u201d initiative which promoted informed choices in the 2019 parliamentary election campaign. A memorandum of cooperation signed between the SfPA and the National Institute for Strategic Studies. A joint analytical report \u201cFakes, Propaganda, Disinformation and the Electoral Process: How to Protect Democratic Practices?\u201d was published.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

2020<\/div>\r\n\n\n\n

With the support of the U.S. Embassy, the SfPA shared its experience as a university think tank and created an online course \u201cUniversity Think Tank: Operating Manual\u201d. The Electoral Council UA initiative was expanded to promote informed voting in local elections.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

2021<\/div>\r\n\n\n\n

The SfPA conducted a large-scale comprehensive study in the Eastern and Southern regions on policies of reintegration of TOT. With the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, the SfPA researched the role of culture in the processes of understanding the Russian-Ukrainian war through a nationwide survey, expert interviews and focus groups. At the request of the Ministry of Reintegration of the TOT, the SfPA conducted a conflict risk assessment in Starobilsk and Henichesk territorial communities.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

2022<\/div>\r\n\n\n\n

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the SfPA intensifies its work in the field of international relations. In partnership with the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, the SfPA conducts a study of the challenges faced by Ukrainian universities after February 24.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

2023<\/div>\r\n\n\n\n

The first Pact institutional support project, which includes 5 waves of field research.
